Week 9
Julie's class assignment
Chosen prompt:
How do we gravitate towards objects:
How are certain objects accessible to us and not others, how they are to others and not us? You can think of accessible in terms of the meaning, the history or how they make you feel "at home" or not. (use one item [from your archive] for illustration)
Other than this assignment, I've spent most of this week figuring out how to work with a prompt Amy gave me last week to approach my material from a different angle: video essays. I decided to start with a tad more elaborate video version of the character timeline I'd put together earlier. (Not on this blog, but can be found in MS Teams, in Identity 3)
I worked out a loose script, recorded it, and have started on the editing, which I underestimated how long it would take, but I hope to have it actually finished by the end of next week. Digging through the lengthy video material these characters hail from in search for specific scenes is a bit daunting I must admit, but I'm sure I'll figure that out! Below I've added a screenshot of the rough edit in Adobe Premiere.
